Vaisakhi: Autism Awareness Day

Sakhi Sikhia is excited to be hosting a special program for children in our community with autism. This event will create a welcoming and inclusive space for children with autism to connect with Sikhi and sangat. It is important to hold events like this to not only raise awareness about autism but also to create opportunities for children with autism in Sikh spaces. This event will allow for young participants to be valued, heard and supported.

The program is designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for children, but parents are to remain actively involved in supervising their child's participation. Please note that the program does not offer one-to-one support, and parents should be prepared to assist their child as needed.

Parental involvement is essential for creating a positive experience for both children and adults. By working together, all participants can feel supported and encouraged to learn and grow.

The event will run from 12-3pm and takes place on April 29 at Cloverdale Recreation Center. Pizza lunch will be provided. Please keep in mind that the event is exclusively for Children with autsim aged 6-13 years. Please register online at sakhisikhia.com.
